I dont know about you, but over the past 20+ years, I have spent a lot of money on things that don’t work. Even things that used to work a year ago like clockwork, now no longer produce results.
A lot of this is due to the increased ability to automate mass reachout whether by email or by phone. Therefore, there has been a huge increase in the amount of spam calls and emails. I have read various statistics that suggest it increased by 70% but I feel it is more like 700%. I am sure I am not the only one who clicks DELETE ALL and then scans to see what to uncheck in my email.
In addition, there is a big change in the way people (and business owners are people) buy products and services. Generally, prospects do not talk to a single sales person until they are 80% down the sales cycle path. They identify their own need,. they do the research and do self directed education on pricing, features, benefits etc.
To be successful, anyone doing sales will need to disrupt their target prospects from their overwhelming day to day work with a message that is relevant and personalized. Sales teams and small business owners need to nurture any leads that do not buy immediately, then
follow up and follow thru. Do this……….and you will undoubtedly beat out the competition.
